I attach a lender from
the Editor of whien is a new man lately arrived from
England imbued with somewhat advanced ideas, on the
subject of certain questions in the Legislative
Council whichs I will refer to later.
I think that the point of most importance in the
paragraph in ar Chamberlain's despatch above referred
to, is that the cheiod of an unofficial member of
the Executive Council should be inspired
"by
consideration of personal merit and have no
reference to a particular class" to use the words of
Mr Chamberlain, and it is from that point of view
that I venture to submit the name of Mr E,H. Sharp K.Ĉ.
Mr 3.H. Sharp was called to the English Bar in 1891
and was admitted to the Hong Kong Bar in 1894.
Be at once made his mark
masterly lawyer and
while the late Er J.J.Francis was alive ne shared the
leading practice of the Bar with that eminent Counsel.
After Er Francis ' death he WRI leader of the Bar
